About Terra
Terra – Pinpoint It is a free daily geography game. Each day, everyone gets the same five famous landmarks from around the world. You spin and zoom a realistic globe, drop a pin where you think each landmark is, and see how close you got.

Daily games like Wordle are short and shareable, and geography fits that format well. Terra is meant to be a quick daily habit, a few minutes of exploring the planet that also teaches you where things are.
How it works
- Same puzzle for everyone: a new set of five landmarks is chosen each day, resetting at midnight Pacific Time.
- One guess per landmark: you place a single pin, then the real location is revealed.
- Fair scoring: points are based on the great-circle distance between your pin and the landmark, up to 5,000 per round.
- Daily leaderboard: post your score under any name. There are no accounts. Scores are checked and calculated on the server.

Imagery and credits
The globe uses Blue Marble Next Generation satellite imagery from NASA’s Visible Earth project, and loads sharper high-resolution tiles from NASA’s GIBS (Global Imagery Browse Services) when you zoom in. Landmark locations are approximate map coordinates.
Your data
You can play without signing in. The game stores a random ID and your chosen display name in your browser so it can remember that you’ve played today and show your row on the leaderboard. If you post a score, that name and score are stored for the day. We don’t ask for your email or real name. See our privacy policy for details.
